these are not good coals for me but i not a natural coal user i a firm silver tab user. so i leave room for me totally using this coal wrong. if you see me messing up please comment and i do an update with the new way. all and all buy something else the whole roll around factor really puts me off these coals and there low surface contact area bugs me
just letting it roll over on what looks like a bigger surface area would've given you more smoke or add another similiar sized chunk on the other side and you should be good.
I just bought a bag today and luckily none of them were broken. Unfortunately, I won't be able to try them out until Friday. I think I'll try cutting them into disks first and use a couple, and if that doesn't work I'll cut them in half lenght-wise to have a flat edge. If they don't work out for you, you could always use them for cooking like the bag says .
