Default My SUper Heavy Syrian Narghile

I've had a lot of questions about my super heavy Syrian I picked a while ago in Tartus, Syria a while ago. I haven't put this in the gallery so i've posted some pictures here.

This thing really is super heavy weighing in at 11 kilos without a bowl. It's made of solid brass about 1.25cm thick which is coated with crome that's etched. The base is perfect with no air bubbles, striations or colour streaks and it's got a perfectly symethical opening and dead level bottom. I has 2 built in diffusors (one in the smoke chamber and one in the hose port), 4 holes and everything is cast and machined. It doesn't get any better this. Check out the photos.

Those are the exact style stem models of a certain vendor. They look great nonetheless.

Same style but it doesn't come apart and it's much heavier and 38" tall rather then 26"-31" with 2 rather then 1 diffusers and a longer stem to boot!

Thats the same base that came with my nour from hookah company. So beautiful. I have never seen a base I liked more than that. I wish I could find somewhere to get another one. They aren't for sale ANYWHERE. I doubt they are even being imported anymore, let alone even being made.

I can vouch for how heavy it is. I think the base probably comprises more of the total weight of this thing that the stem does.

The vase I have is 4.75 kilos and the stem is 6.25 kilos. The wight of the stem is partly because of the height but mainly because it's cast brass and extremely thick. The downstem is also longer then most Syrians and again, it's pretty thick. This is a real work horse that will give a lot of years of service.

I can vouch for the heaviness of cast brass stems, I have a KM Zahirah that could kill a full grown rhyno. I'm very close to deciding to pick up the Nour Mitchard has at a local shop as it's been my dream pipe for about a year now.

Thanks for the pics and concise review

I think it's the same. Thing is that it's not Bohemain since it came with a little sticker that said made in Syria (in Arabic of course) and a little Syrian flag. I wish you'd get out here so you could try it out. The thing is amazing to smoke from once I dumped the generic Syrian hose it came with.

Amazing hookah. I bought separate a Syrian shaft just like that, etched in Israel from an Arab who owns a 24/7 never close hookah store and he buys from Syria and Egypt straight.

It must be great to have access to such a wide range shisha related shops. Basically everything I have is either mailed ordered or picked up on a trip overseas.

These days far too much of what is out on the market is flimsy and light weight with poor quality welds. The really great stuff that I don't have (outside of antiques) are handmade, tribal type stuff from rural areas. Those rigs are bult like tanks and really well designed. What have is more decorative but still pretty good. I understand that Yemen has some amazing stuff but it's not exported.

The base? Mine came with the Bohmeian sticker on the bottom.
