Default hookah heat management

I just wrote an article on hookah heat management.

Factors that i put in are:

Size of the bowl
Type of coal (natural or fast burning)
Size of the coal(s)
Number of the coals used
and how to manage them:

Making correct holes
Choosing the type of coal
Choosing the right number of coals
Correct Coal Placement
Rotating the coal(s) in a timely manner to new location(s)
Ashing the coal(s) on time
Using a windcover
I appreciate feedback on the full article.

Nice article - my only question is:

Where are the corners of the bowl? I've never found them...

Don't mind me - I'm just a jackass / smartass

many hole pokers arent really pokers but thin rods with a point.

suggest maybe a toothpick or a pin or something.

also the space between the foil and the tobacco is important. if its direct contact, it wont last as long and burn quicker obviously.

Best I could come up with would be "opposing edges of the bowl". I never use more than 2 coals, but for 3, I guess "equally spaced around the outer edge of the bowl" would work.

You could also just use images - sometimes those tell a story better than any words. That and people are lazy and like pictures

I don't think anyone didn't/won't know what you mean - just busting your chops a little

nice and easy to read/understand guide.. just one thing I reacted on..
"So when you move it, ash will fall all over your bowl and get in between the tobacco. Its not a pleasant smoke when you get ash in your mouth"

Actually this has never happend to me and I would guess the reason for this is cus if the ash would leave the bowl and even go through the stem then it would probably get stuck in the water.. And ash has no taste at all so if you would have ash in your bowl this would not affect the taste of the shisha ur smoking since you are vaporising the molasses from the shisha and the ash does affect.. maybe if you had too much it would be problem to airflow but thats not likely I think..

you are right. i dont remember many times that i got ash in my mouth.

i thought as a general rule it might be better not to let ash in the bowl, but you are right. I'll make some changes to the article tonight

Actually I thought this was the case as well.. and many people still do.. Thats sometimes why people poke holes with smaller needles or really trying to make very small holes but I'd say thats worse cus then larger pieces of ash can get in the way of the hole and just block it. And also I think thats a few bigger holes work much betetr then alot smaller holes.. airflow gets much better.. well this is preference..
yeah Nice article anyways! Btw my name is also Nima
