I've hardly smoke outdoors, and it doesn't linger or stick to things like cigarette smoke. In that sense, you'd be fine - especially if you are keeping the place opened up. That said, if it's your parents house and they are OK with outside but not inside, don't do it inside.

And yes - the coal thing. A sure way to get yourself in a heap of crap, lol. IMO, it's not worth it, but you could get away with it fairly easily.

Ive smoked indoors for 3 years, in two different no smoking allowed apartments and no smell EVER lingered. Just be careful with coals.

Same for me, I'm renting a non-smoking house and I've been smoking indoors for the last couple months because of the cold weather and none of my friend or roommates can smell it after a couple hours.

I dont want to jinx you but just be carefully of dropping the coals.

If your going to have a window open, you'll be fine as far as getting rid of lingering smoke and the smell. As been said, be carefull not to drop any coals o the ground.

Yeah don't burn through the carpet, it makes it kinda obvious you've been smoking at that point, but besides that, you should be good. Tell your friends to chill out and don't knock it over

Just keep a nice ingenious can of Febreeze with you =]
Eliminates the smell pretty fast along with an open window.

I smoke in my basement and my basement always smells. I could not smoke for a week and go down there and it will still smell. Once I open one of the windows for a half hour or so the smell clears. You can smoke with the windows closed, thats my preference. The smoke lingers and wind doesn't bother my rings. Then when your done just leave the window open for a half hour or so and your golden.

the smell of burning coals will stay for a while, other than that no.

so wat i do, and recommend is to light your coals outside, flake the ash of them outside and smoke inside.

my rents are clueless. :P

yeah its nothing like cigarettes. The smell wont stay. But make sure not to drop any coal anywhere as it will burn most surfaces and leave a mark and odor.

A good idea is to take an old, unused rug, and leave the hookah on top of it. That way, if you drop a coal by accident, at least you won't burn a hole in the carpet. But yeah, with windows open, the smell should go away within a few hours.

The smoke never lasts. I used to smoke three hookahs at the same time in my tiny dorm room last year with a big group of friends. No one ever smelled a thing. I even asked my RA after school ended for summer and he was just mad he didnt get invited!

Most of the time I smoke indoors and can say that the smell will last for some time, but not very long. And if you leave a window open it won't last much at all. But if you smoke like 4 bowl the smell will last longer and the smoke too. That's how much we smoke per time then we get together. Anyway, just open a window and everything should be ok.

If you ever bought new car mats to replace the stock or anything keep the ones that you take out to use for under your hookah =] I have like 4 extra weather mats which i already burned holes into one of them =P
The carpet mats are much better than weather mats since you prolly don't want to inhale toxic burning plastic fumes lol

Smoked in my last japanese apartment, the landlord and two reality agents never could tell!
Smell lingers for a day.. doesn't stick to the walls or ceilings (dull yellow color), neither does the smell.

I suggest that you cut up a cardboard box, and sit your hookah on it. In case a coal drops off, it will not burn your floor/carpet.

With a nice hot coal on that you might have an even bigger mark on the floor or rug. Maybe no floor or rug in the end cause of a house fire =P
