no, keeping it in the fridge will do very little. The shisha has to heat up to smoke correctly, making it colder will just prolong the process. As for storing it, any airtight container will do. I have mine in glass airtight jars out of sunlight and some have stayed good for over a year.

None of us would be here if not for the pursuit of knowledge.

Just keep it in a cool dark airtight place, not the fridge though.

That's the way a refrigerator works. The condenser pulls moisture from the air and thus cools it but makes it extremely dry. Yay thermodynamics!

So, if it were in a true airtight container, there would be no drying out if it were in a fridge, right?

my folks keep it in the fridge, I don't see a difference but someone will be able to scientifically explain what difference there is. I don't refrigerate my shisha.

I’ve tried it before and according to my experience the shisha swells up. Don’t know why but I guess that it gets cold and “breaths” and yes I had it in an airtight box.

So the swelling affects the taste of the shisha, weakens

This is due to that water content in shisha tobacco. You will need to acclimate it before you smoke it again (let alone get it to room temperature).

No containers are truly airtight unless you are physically bonding the material together. there will always be transfer and loss of liquid.

There is no benefit and only the possibility of losing flavor/liquid mass however imperceptible it may be.
