Default It's that time again

Well it is that time again to get a new pipe for the new year. So I've narrowed down my choices to three from three different highly regarded vendors. So lets get to it!

Syrian:
http://www.socialsmokehookah.com/ite...-SYRIAN10.html
$73.73

KM:

$74.58

MZ:
http://www.hookahcompany.com/horas_c..._2502_prd1.htm
$70.41

These prices include shipping. As of right now, I'm leaning toward the MZ but I'd like more info in its durability and smoke. Also, the MZ's description says its stainless steel and brass. So which is the core? If it's brass cored, I will buy MZ no doubt. However, the KM and Syrian are quite attractive. Help a brother out!

i think the fact it lists both cores is just to be more get more google hits and just in case they get one or the other core. if you where not happy because you got a SS core and not brass they will say it said right on the site that it had a SS core. personally i say go with the KM but thats only my opinion.

I am going to say KM, cuz I love them! BUT that MZ sounds really nice too!?

I have a KM Amer and I don't plan on getting rid of it EVER! I use it all the time, I was going to get another hookah, and I still may, but it is a tough hookah to beat! Great seal, good draw, smokes like a champ! She is handmade and has a brass core, what more could you ask for, especially for the price you are considering spending?

I would buy that KM Amer again in a heartbeat! Hope that helps ...

Cheers!

If HC had stock of Amers, I wouldn't be posting this topic

Anyway, I guess I'm going to narrow down to two: the KM and MZ.

Pros and Cons? I want someone who owns a MZ to chime in and give some insight.

KM welds are not as clean as MZ. KMs rust easier than other hookahs, i've noticed. I have one friend with a rusted Amer (which was "brass" cored mind you). I would go with the SS Syrian cause of the brass. I love brass cause it's shinier than Stainless steel, quite heavier than stainless steel, more durable than stainless steel (you won't get a stupid dented stem in any place), and brass won't rust like an Egyptian Stainless (or "brass") stem. The only problems is the SS Syrians marble tray. it's so tiny!

Instead of the marble one, how about this one?

http://www.socialsmokehookah.com/ite...-SYRIAN08.html

Its a couple dollars cheaper too. MZ is nice and all but this particular syrian is catching my eye. Good, conservative looks that will contrast the modern look of my MYA very well.

I love them too but a little bit out of my price range as of now

I'm liking the second Syrian I posted a lot now. The KM and MZ are still quite enticing.

I love the clear second syrian you posted to - that's one damn sweet hookah. Hum.... I understand why you are torn 3 ways.... put if push comes to pull, I'd vote either the KM or the Syrian (2nd one listed), with a HEAVY lean toward the Syrian.

I have 3 syrains and I love them to death! (Although a Good Egpytian is worth it's weight as well). The MZ may have cleaner welds, but I personally don't know anyone who has one, so I can't vouch for the quaility & lifespan (but it also looks nice).

Blarg... I'm not much help, am I?

I think most people have the misconseption that brass doesnt rust. Brass is not 1 thing. Brass is whatever alloy contains copper and zinc. It the proportions and addition of other elements (such as Aluminium )which make it resist corrosion.
stainless steel on the other hand is what the name says

Brass does not rust in the same way that steel does. Brass, to protect itself from oxidation, converst itself with the green that we associate w/ brass. Steel on the otherhand has no protective element and just dies when it oxidizes. Most pipes, especially the newer KM's, are advertised as stainless steel but are actually galvanized steel that does rust rather easily. Eric and I were discussing this over the phone for a couple of hours. So now I'm a bit turned off by KM's in that I'm not guaranteed a stainless steel pipe. MZ's have been confirmed as true Stainless Steel and the clear based SS Syrian is brass.

Now its a tug of war between the MZ Horas C (or B), C being 35" and B 32" and $10 cheaper, and the SS Syrian which is 31" and similar in price to the MZ (just a couple dollars more than the MZ). Sigh, what to do, what to do?

The only thing is that the MZ Horas B is much cheaper. I'll be getting it $10 cheaper and within one business day because I'm located so close to HC. Even then, Brass Syrian from SS.......

AHHHH!!!! I don't know what to do!

well i hate to jump in and all but i want to be honest with you all..... i hate hookahs... lol
i love KMs to death but recently i have fallen in love with MZ's too... i have a ton of personal hookahs and well i have had a KM on the rocks for about 3 years now.... i smoke between 3-5 bowls of grape from it almost every day . they are not bad hookahs its like what i tell every one if you take care of your hookah your hookah will take care of you in the end.... i am a freak when it comes to my hookahs i change the hoses on the once every 2-3 weeks. Km's are bad ass when it comes to life. on the other hand the looks wise they are eh to me.....

MZ's are bad ass too i have 5 for personal use and have had them for about a year and a 1/2 now and the only thing i dont like about them is they tend to have realy sharp edges on the down stem where the nut is... but thats about it... and in all honesty there is no such thing as a stainless steel hookah...keep that in mind... every one says it is. but its not... dont get me wrong the finish on them is beautiful and shiny but it fades... trust me.

if you want to do somthing to your hookah to make it last longer... get it chromed before you even use it. i have done it to a couple hookahs i have made for some clients and wow it looks amazing.

KM's MZ's wow that would really make a good articule in next months hookah talk!

So Bilal, which would you recommend?

As of late, I'm pretty dead set on an MZ.

The 32" Horas B
http://www.hookahcompany.com/horas_b..._2516_prd1.htm

Pharaoh's 29"
http://www.hookahcompany.com/horas_b..._2516_prd1.htm

Both out of HC. I'm leaning toward the Horas B cause its taller for just 5 bucks but the white base looks very sexy. I'll shoot them an email and see if I can hybridize them
