Default Wisdom teeth...

So, in a few days I am getting all four of my wisdom teeth removed. I have heard that you cant smoke because it can dry out your sockets, would smoking hookah do this? I find that I salivate more when I'm smoking hookah. Also, there is something about sucking on things, (), would I be able to smoke even though im not supposed to do that? For anyone wondering, they are partially erupted, and my brother who is a dentist said that it should not cause me as much pain as most wisdom teeth removals. idk, anyone have any suggestions? Or good foods to eat or smoking tips?

I still smoked cigarettes when I got mine taken out. I smoked on the way there and on the way home thinking I'd be fine and then was in some of the worst pain ever for the next week. I honestly wouldn't even risk it haha

It is honestly best to not smoke at all after you have them removed. If you feel you absolutely must take very, VERY small puffs. Think a cigarette drag cut in 1/4. The act of sucking on things (ha, that sounded dirty!) can cause a dry socket which hurt like a mad bastard. My recommendation is don't do it at all or in very small amounts. I only smoked cigarettes when I had mine removed and cut back from about 1 pack a day to 2 cigarettes and still had some mild issues.

As far as foods go, I survived on egg drop soup from the local chinese place.

Hope this helps!

^^ +1, probably the best course of action. And if you end up smoking through your nose.....you are bound by some law of the universe to post pictures!

I had all four of mine which were impacted taken out. NOT advised to smoke at all for a while. The risk of getting dry sockets is not worth it. Plus smoking thins your blood.

Don't smoke anything for at least 2 weeks. You may be a slower healer. Trust me, smoking the hookah and getting a dry socket is the last thing you want to do. I mean, you can't even sip through a straw, so there's no reason why you should be smoking through a straw.

Yeah, if you can't drink using a straw, you should probably stay away from the hose for a while.

Yeah Dry sockets are a biatch been there had them.

The worst is phantom tooth ache (tooth ache where a tooth was) there is nothing you can do for that. All my teeth have three roots and are hell to remove what makes things worse is that I have a very high resistance to the locals they use to deaden the pain so all the work is done live (nearly immune to them all)

All the best while recovering and relax the Hookah will not be going anywhere.

I pulled my wisdoms on 11/22/2009 a week before my bday(27th). The following week was hell lol.
I lost 5lbs from eatin just soup. They told me not to suck on straws cuz it cases you to bleed, I missed that part and cut up some ramen noodles in the soup and used a fat straw to suck them up. This was 5hrs after the surgery, BAD IDEA.

I waited till the 28th(a week later) to smoke since it was my day party. I had an hour session. After that I waited 2 weeks till my next session just to be sure. I don't know if I'm still vulnerable to dry socket but I'm still using that curved syringe to squirt put any food stuck in my sockets.

My advice is to wait atleast a week. And if Its and absolute must then go ahead and have a small session to get it out of your system(or in :P) then wait for as long as you can.

A dry socket is when all the blood coagulating in the pits gets sucked out abruptly by a vacuum, therefore elongating or stopping the healing process. When you check the pits, when you can see your jawbone you know you have a dry socket.

DO NOT SMOKE! OR USE STRAWS! OR EAT ANYTHING THAT REQUIRES CHEWING!!! Soups, Jellos, fried rice, jello, jello, jello, jello, pudding, and jello are about the only things you should try to eat.
Also, dont drink alcohol bc that will sting like a boogerbitch.
As soon as you start to suck on a straw or inhale frm your hookah, you will be able to tell that ur tooth sockets hurt. JUST DONT DO IT. ITS THE WORST PAIN OF YOUR LIFE TO GET A DRY SOCKET!!!

i only say this because im honestly the wimpiest when it comes to tooth/throat/ear pain. ive had my nose broken 6 times and not even flinched but mouth pain absolutely annihilates me. good luck getting rid of the chipmunk cheeks as well, and remember JELLO!!!

Yea, just wait till you get them taken out and see if you even want to take a puff of that hookah.

I could barely open my mouth when I got mine taken out and the last thing on my mind was sucking on the hose just to taste some flavor.
Trust me, you're not gonna wanna do it anyways...
