Thumbs down Motorcycle crash...

I took a nasty spill on my bike, and slammed my head into the road (wearing a helmet), and I dis-located my jaw.. It popped back into place, but the x-rays revealed that while my jaw was un-hinged it slipped the disk in the joint completely out... Now I am struggling to open my jaw wide enough to blow rings without extreme pain... Shrug... Sad day..

They say there's two kinds of (real) bikers.

Those who have gone down, and those who are gonna.

Welcome to the club.

Haha. You are hardcore if you are just worried about not being able to blow smoke rings than you're close call with the reaper! Glad you are relatively ok though.

that's nuts! helmets do save lives. Its good that you came out ok, rather than the worst. i was rider for 4 years and i took a spill with my brothers gixxer 600 poppin wheelies (back then i thought i was invincible) and i came out with a few road rash but the bike was totaled after landing on a car... now i got my zx-6r sitting in my garage for the past two years collecting dust. kinda scared to ride after what happend. but anyways enough of my life story..LOL! at least you are still able to hookah which would be the one thing i wouldn't want to lose.

I am relieved to hear you were not seriously injured but what you are dealing with is bad enough and I hope get better soon. As to riding well, you really need to spend a lot effort to drive defensively which something that few youngsters do. Outside of wearing a helmet you should invest a good set of leathers (one piece is ideal), knee and elbow pads and a spine protector. I've been riding for a lota years at this point and i've avoided plenty of accidents and came out of those I couldn't have avoided thanks to protective gear.

Bottom line is to not give up riding.

Anyway, best not bother with smoke rings when you need to heal up. I can say you'll enjoy smoking all the more when you haven't done so for a while. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Bad news about taking the spill dude. Good to know you're still around to tell the tale. All the gear, all the time is the best way to ride. Good job you had that helmet on. How did the bike come out of it? not that it's important, i'm just curious. Also, what do you ride?

Get well soon!

I rode a ninja 250. Little baby bike, to get me around town. Here in Tucson a lot of the roads aren't in the greatest condition... So I was taking a turn going about... 35 40 mph? Not really fast... Bike went over, I was pinned underneath it.. As it went over that's when my head slammed into the pavement.. Drug me underneath it for about... 15 ft probably.. The bike is pretty messed up.. Front plastics are busted to pieces.. Handlebars are twisted funky, and off kilter to the front tire.. FORTUNATLY, I was wearing a full face helmet, gloves, leather jacket with armor and spine protector, and my Dad's combat boots.. If it weren't for those things I'd have really horrible road rash.. Although a few rocks were imbedded in my knee... But, I just pulled those out, and they're scabbed over now.. Anyhow, my right boot took most of the weight of the bike, otherwise my leg would be pretty mangled.. yeah.. Thanks for the good wishes, you ALL rock.
