Default *facepalm*

My parents don't approve of hookah, so I usually keep my hookah tucked away. I didn't put it out of sight last night thinking a day could pass by unnoticed.

So tonight I open the box in which my hookah is stored, to get ready to go to a party, and the heart is missing from the stem. (it screws together). They took the most vital piece.

Ugh, I guess come Friday I'm in the market for another hookah.
sigh...

I guess I'll do it right this time and get a KM.

Dude, if you think your mom is gonna do this again, don't get a KM. They're way too expensive to get taken away and never to be seen again.

That sucks, to be completely honest. I just explained my habit to my mother and she seemed to understand. However, 1) I didn't live in her house at the time and 2) She had the common misconceptions about it and I made sure I debunked those for her.

Also with some of the comments already posted, DO NOT get a KM if your mother is going to get grabby and get rid of it. 100+ dollars just going in the trash if she finds it.

I smoked with my dad for an hour last night. It ruled. Listened to Rush out in the garage while smoking some Tangiers Cactus Fruit.

They both used to be against all of it at first, but they have warmed up to it a bit. Well, I guess they never were really AGAINST it, but they didn't like the idea of me smoking.

Is that 'both' in regards to both your parents or Rush and your dad?

They're really hypocritical, My dad was a smoker for around 20 years, so I'm not sure why he's so bleh about it. I've tried explaining the misconceptions about smoking hookah, but they fail to believe me, and they think that the shisha tobacco is a some illegal substance, even though it says AL Fakher,El Nakhla, Fumari Tobacco on the package.

If i keep a hookah it where it's usually at, then there's not a problem, it's just my own damn fault for leaving it in sight.

This seems to be a common thread. The my parents don't like me smoking in the house kind of thing. My mom didn't like me smoking either, told me outside or not at all, and even when I was outside I got harassed constantly. This just made even more of an argument for "I need to move out". Now, I don't have anybody bothering me about it, minus the occasional comment from the hubby about "That one smells funny, smoke the one I like."

The "she stole my chamber" part is new... Looks like your screwed, dude, unless you can figure out what she did with it. That's the one part I don't know if you can ghetto-rig it. If you do go looking for it, I'd suggest doing it while there's noone else in the house. I'd also suggest looking in the classic parental hiding spots, such as: tops of cabinets, linen closets, bedroom closets, jewelry drawers, and spare bedrooms.

As for the hookah misconception inherent in parents, try explaining exactly what each part of the hookah does, how it works, what you do with it. Show them where you're buying your tobacco from, and the coals. Once they know EXACTLY what you're using, they seem to be a little more forgiving about it.

QFT. My parents were not big on the idea when I first started smoking, but they warmed up with understanding. When I was home last month they let me turn the garage into a hookah lounge to have my birthday party in and my dad even smoked with me.

As far as buying a new one, have you considered the HoboNargile? I have one, and while it's obviously not a replacement for all hookahs (not trying to start that discussion again, haha), it's ideal for travel or, in your case, much easier concealment. A KM is a big thing to hide, but this all fits in a small bag. You could even leave the bag lying out and not likely get any suspicion.
