Is it acclimated properly? I use a medium phunnel,I was using 4 coconaras with no windscreen with one rhd foil backed it down to 3 with a windscreen and it worked just fine. Also look up how to pack it on youtube i typed in tangiers how to pack and Eric Tangiers has a video of him packing it in a phunnel should be the first video to appear.

Hate has nothing to do with it. He makes a sound point.

Would you buy pizza from a pizza place where the pizza required special preperation and 1/3rd of the time didn't turn out right anyways?

5min is like no where near enough. Let that stuff sit out until the entire room fills with the smell of orange brambleberry, go out and get something to eat, come back then smoke it. proper acclimation is very neccessary for tangiers. I used an egyptian with quciklights and it was smoking awesome back when i got some tanigers orange soda.

Why make an analogy with a random statistic? Someone asks for help with Tangiers and the thread goes to crap because of people trashing tangiers, nearly every time. It's cool if you don't like it, that's fine. That's just like, your opinion man. But to try to turn others off of it is just mean and disrespectful to do to a company. I know this post isn't helping this thread but still.

I'm in AP Chem, and it isn't a 'sound point' , it's extrapolated opinion based on ignorance of those who do not know what to do with tangiers. The unhappy costumer speaks the loudest. You don't see threads with people saying "I had a great session with Tangier's" not because no one has a good session with Tangier's but because no one writes that. It's called voluntary response bias, and now I'm done but I continue to write?
Why, why do I do this?

It has nothing to do with opinions, disrespect, or hate.

I'm simply saying that Ari made a very good point.

It also has nothing to do with trying to "Turn someone off". I don't give a damn what random internet strangers smoke. Most of y'all smoke crap tobacco anyway.

I smoked some tangiers last night out of my vortex. Got harsh pretty quick so I opened up the foil and threw some more shisha on top and put the coals back on. Smoked well for the rest of the session

this does not help you!

high school chem?!

I am a researcher approaching 40 publications, with more letters next to my name than i care to remember. I do not compete with ivy league students, i assign work to them.
I made a very simple observation about a simple variable (not complicated stuff)
I made it very light hearted and jovial, no ill intent on my part.
There is no need to get heated, i understand your passionate and i respect that.

You make a valid point about the consumer being more likely to point out the bad experiences that is why they created error rate variables.
However the consumer complains about this brand more than any other. Why might that be?
In the end, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I dont have any Ill will towards you either and value your opinion, if i did not , i wouldnt even bother responding to you
as dusty would say..."smoke happy"

I need a little help too lol. I just got my new tangiers in just a min or 2 ago and it smells just like it should ()new lemon lime and tropical punch) these 2 are my only others besides white grape... which was smelling of soy sauce for a day and a half (approximate time of acclimation)! Do I need to let it acclimate even though it smells as it should? ( yes it all has been noir)

If it doesn't reek of bbq/soy sauce then it's good to smoke.

I cut coconaras in half, then use 2 halves on opposite sides of a vortex bowl. No windcover. If the tobacco smells like the name then its ready. Make sure you pack with enough tobacco to go above the rim. Then press down with your palm against the loose foil. Poke holes down to the bottom of the bowl with a toothpick. This is how get my tangiers to smoke great.

When I selaid 5 mins I meant letting the bowl get warm before smoking, I let it acclimate for about 21 hrs, since I was at work

what I dont understand is, if the holes have to be large and many in the foil for Tangiers, cant u just use a metal screen? Same concept really.

SKKG, i have never been able to get Tangiers to work really. I think Oregon's winters might just be too erratic for Noir line. The mumidity, temp and such all change so frequently. last summer i got one good Noir smoke in, and i didnt even know it was Noir (contest thing, Name That Shisha!!!! It was unlabeled).

I would recommend maybe trying to do a mini-acclimation for 30-60 minutes right before you smoke it, and then of course the pack suggestions mentioned.
