Default Getting ready to purchase first hookah

I`ve been smoking hookah for about 5-6 years and looking to purchase my 1st real hookah I`ve had a hookah before but it was more of a toy

Looking to try some different shesha brands/flavors than just what my local hookah lounges carry.

Any Tips or opinions would be greatly appreciated

Im deciding between 30" 1 Hose Startgate

or a Ed hardy hookah

Both i`ve smoked out of and liked but im not sure how they rank.
Besides the general hookahs most lounges carry thats the only hookahs i`ve smoked out of
I dont mind spending a little bit a on quality hookah that will last awhile any other options I should be looking at?

also im planning to heat my coals on a electric burner and want the best coals not sure what a good brand I hate when hookah taste like coals

First and foremost, Welcome to Hookah Pro!
And good luck on your hookah shopping!
I can already tell you now that people will tell you to not buy a Ed Hardy.

^but I would personally also tell you not to get that Stargate hookah. It may look cool and modern, but from personal experience, it doesn't smoke that great.

Invest in a Khalil Mamoon, Temsaah, etc. you wont be dissappointed.

Unless you just want it purely for decoration, then by all means get the ed hardy and maybe a matching tattoo to go with it. haha.

If your looking for the ultimate smoke.. go with KM.. there are other comparable brands, but most people will say GO KM or GO HOME!

KM = Khalil Mamoon.

enjoy bud.

as for coals, everyone here who can get natural coals says coconara ar the best. I would say try for anyhting natural, your smoke will taste so much better.

Go for a KM, 30'' or bigger and you can't go wrong, as far as the ultimate smoke, it's also about knowing the facts of packing a bowl, heat management, the right tobacco for your needs and wants, assembling the hookah (how high to fill up the water) etc...
Don't get an Ed Hardy anything.

Ed Hardy is overpriced chinese crap.

That stargate pipe might be worthwhile if you could pick it up for around $50. I wouldn't pay more than that.

If you want the "Ultimate smoke" go with a Khalil Mammoon, single hose, around 30-35 inches. Get a vortex bowl and a good washable hose, and you'll be there.

I agree with everyone else. NO ED FARTY!!!!!! Get a km. you will be more than glad you did. And if youll be getting coals to light on the stove go with coco naras or ******* hookah natural coals. Also for other shisha flavors and brands I as well as many other people will recommend nakhla, espacallt the mizo line. I hope this helps. Happy smoking!

I think the Agreed Opinion is size doesn't matter.....
http://www.hookahpro.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9467

The Consensus on this forum seems to be KM, Temsaah, and if your going to buy Chinese go MYA.

Other brands people have approved of would be Nammor and Nours

Heres a stratus on Hookah-Shisha it only has 50% rating....
http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-201-s...se-hookah.html

There are also plenty of other vendors, check the vendor selection area.

Get a KM, any size, they all smoke great. Coconaras is the obvious, and grab a smoke diffuser and even a Nammor hose if you're really into the clouds.

i have that stargate but in a shorter verison (about 16in). i bought it a few months ago, around mid march. its an awesome hookah and smokes pretty good but after a while the black chrome on it started to fade and it started to get this white looking corrosion look on the stem part that screws into the vase. it reminds me kinda when a battery is old and gets that corrosion look on its ends. something like that but pure white. makes me kinda not wanting to smoke outta it anymore. im gonna be a KM in the next couple days so i'll keep my stargate is a display piece lol

as for Ed Hardy.. just dont do it haha..

i'd recommend you get a KM instead of both those hookahs.

Well, welcome to HP, and to answer your questions- As for my preferences, I recommend Khalil Mamoon to anyone. It is a top-of-the-line quality hookah. As for coals- I stand strongly beside Coco Naras. Just my 2 cents...

hmmm, the starlight is a nice hookah until it begins to fall apart, so i would say no to that

ed hardy is the worst thing ever invented so i would say pass on that too, unless you wear ed hardy, then you might want to buy it

for the money you would spend on an ed hardy POS, you could get some syrian brass or a simplistic and effective KM hookah and the right accessories and still have money left over for tobacco.
The right accessories by the way....vortex or small phunnel bowl and a nammor hose
