Default Stargate release valve/bearing issue

hey all!

first post here on hp...so go easy on me. im still kinda new to the scene...started a little last summer and try to smoke when i can while on tour.

now that summer is here...going to try and get some nice sessions going. last night packed a nice bowl of SS absolute zero into my stargate single hose. all was well but i noticed as the night went on that the purge stem where the bearing is located tended to leak air unless i constantly re-seated the bearing. once it was reseated, it smoked like a champ! ive gone ahead and ordered a second hose adapter and plug but it wont be in for a while. any suggestions on ways to keep that bearing in there nice and neat?

Sounds like you need a new cap and bearing.

Also, if the bearing keeps hanging up on you, open the purge valve cap, assuming that it will come apart. It should. Take a look and see if there are any tiny burrs in it from machining/drilling. that are causing the bearing to remain unseated. If so, lightly remove them with a little piece of emory cloth. Then, it's not a bad idea to lightly coat the bearing with a bit of vegetable oil so it, 1) will retard rust, and 2) will move about the purge valve smoothly without hangups. Hope this is helpful. Smoke happy.

If none of what they said works, Take off the cap, place the BB in the hole and see how much freedom to move it has. If it has a LOT, I'd suggest going with rideordie81's idea. If not I have no idea what to tell you. It's never a bad idea to switch to a plastic airsoft BB though
