Yes, I use 90% isopropyl alcohol (high potency rubbing alcohol) and a nylon wire brush to clean my bowl.
It would take too much to clean the hookah itself though.
Rinse the bowl well!!!!!!

I use lemon juice and baking soda, but if you want to get shit off your bowl, especially like deep burn marks on your vortex or something, Rubbing alcogol and salt in a plastic bag with your bowl, shake it around like crazy for a bit and you will notice stuff comes off real well.

What's up with you and that damn shishavac? It would only blow out water from the stem and air through the hose. Its way over priced. I'd rather take a regular vacuum and just put it to either suck or blow. Then put a funnel over the end of the hose and you have the exact same thing. If you really wanted to I'm sure you could find a air compressor in your garage that would probably work better.

I use rubbing alcohol 70%.. add some sea salt in there and it acts as a scrubber.. shake then rinse very well and your hookah will be brand new again..

isopuryl alcohol leaves no residue so there is no need to rinse anything out. as long as it wont damage any of the parts you should be fine

Ya, i would still rinse it out. its flamable for one and toxic. no need to be lazy, just rinse it out. works better if you put some salt in it anyway, so rinsing would e a must.

random question: went to the store the other day to buy some rubbing alcohol to clean my piece, what's the difference between ethyl and iso alcohol? other than like 11 cents

does one work better or something?

also someone who's tried both, rubbing alcohol or lemon juice, which works best?
