Default Mya Saray...deal or no deal?

http://cgi.ebay.com/24-Mya-Chrome-MY...QQcmdZViewItem

So I went downtown last night, to a local headshop that carries hookah supplies. My friend Nissim was working; I had come in for some coals and shisha. I put my coals, etc. on the counter, and he said he had a deal for me...a Mya Saray Mystic hookah, glass, that he would sell to me for real cheap. $20 cheap
Naturally I couldn't say no...he said he'd throw in the coals and shisha I wanted cause I was purchasing a hookah. It seemed real nice, a mya bowl, mya hose, and mya stamped on the side. I jokingly asked him what was wrong with it, he said it had no downstem lol.
This hookah (mines just like this but with a deep ruby vase and gold accents/hardware) isnt on the mya saray site, nor can I find any other websites via google.
So, really, I'm just asking is it authentic? And even if it's not, where would I go about ordering a Mya downstem? Any help would be great, thanx

Hey Rudie,

Im not sure about your hookah in particular, but that design and style are authentic Mya. It is relatively knew, to my knowledge, and few people carry them yet. They are beautiful IMO.

Your best bet for a downstem is calling Mya direct, most retailers stock a few replacement parts but they are usually for people who order from them and receive damaged or incomplete products so you may be hard pressed to get someone to ship it out to you.

On a side note, $20 is dirt cheap for that hookah. That price is below most wholesale prices so you got a great deal, but it also makes me wonder how authentic it is.

Hope this helps.

20 bucks for that hookah is screamin. even sans downstem.

Avoid Genuine Hookahs like the bullheaded clap.

Heheh...true that lake...

And thanks for the tips, hookahlife. If I can't get a hold of a real replacement, I have one rigged up out of a stainless tube that seems to be working great for the moment ^_^.
But I'm fairly sure it's authentic. I'll post some pics...its exactly the same. very glad about that.
One note i left out for brevity's sake was that theyre closing and moving the shop up to Miami this week...he was hookin me up a bit more than he had license to, but he's not moving up there so he figured whatever i guess lol. Appreciate the info tho.

Oh it is under the carrying case ones...I must have missed it ,but thanks man.
It smokes well, even with my makeshift downstem (pen cap, saran wrap, teflon tape and mcdonalds straw hehe), very well.

Ten bucks? I'm definetly givin them a call, thanks for the info K.K.!
Im just un-broke enough to get that lol.

It sounds like Rudie got a great deal so I suppose hard work and clean living pays off. Although I'm no fan of Mya products some bargains are so fantastic passing on them is unthinkable. I would suggest passing that good fortune on by giving it to some friend or family member that enjoys smoking but can't afford a rig. You might also consider selling it once you get a downstem and using the proceeds to get a high quality rig with a solid brass core. Once you've tried such a rig you'll never go back to anything
less.

Well I was considering giving as a b-day gift to one of my buddies, I already have one anyway.
If you don't mind Hajo, what solid-brass core rigs are you talking about?
Is there a website or anything for them? You stoked my curiosity a bit haha.

Khalil Maamoon is a good example of solid brass based narghiles. Also, the Syrians I post pictures of are a couple of others. Smiley's http://nargileclub.com/ carries a couple of such products as well. Heavy brass cores are a good idea because they never rust, never wear out, never pick up odor and are an indication of careful attention to build quality. Basically, as far as i'm concerned any rig worth buying is one that you should be able to leave to your grand children.

Well thanks for the info, really.
I agree with the heirloom mentality, no throw-away hookahs.
