Default Baroody Natural Wood Coals

Has anybody used these!?? I picked up a bag from the local middle-eastern bakery, and just want to see if anybody else has tried these!?

I have been using them, and don't notice any funny taste...I noticed that they kinda have rocks?..or something when you ash them...is that normal? Are all, "formed" charcoal this way? If that makes sense...I don't know if I am explaining that right...

Responses welcome..Thanks!

Description:
Baroody brand natural wooden charcoal is one of the most reliable brands of
natural wood when it comes to smoking hookah. No flavor is altered from the
smoke when using these coals. These can easily be lit, and burn extremely
slowly. The best part about these wooden coals is that they are so much more
affordable! You will receive 2.2 pounds of the wooden coals or 1 Kilo. Each piece
is about 1-2 inches long. You should get an abundant quantity of coals per bag.

They seem pretty good, and last about an hour. I am liking them so much, that I am thinking about getting something similar to use. Maybe Nours or something?
I like the idea of heating charcoal up on the stove till they are red hot. Definitely less messier than quicklights!
I do like the japanese coals too though! The three eagles are great!

Ohh and about heat management, they seem to keep me from burning my shisha, BUT I don't get as thick of cloluds, I am still working on heat management..after allll this time!
When the coals get small, I make a wind screen outta some aluminum foil (just wrap it around the head) and then I get some nice clouds...

Hey where did you get those coals. I would like to try some out. Also when I use Smiley coconut coals or Starlight fingers. I useually put one nice chunk on the bowl. Place a smaller piece in the tray. I place my wind cove over the top and covering the coal in the tray. The heat comeing from the bottom adds some extra heat with out burning your shisha. Then just rotate it around the bowl leaveing the other one in the tray. When you add more to the bowl get a new piece and replace the one ine the tray if needed. I get real nice clean and harty Clouds of Sweet Candy.
Try it out. you will be amazed that it really makes a difference.

That sounds like a great idea! I need to mod my windcovers though, they are kinda short..don't fit on my hookah That is why I have been making one outta aluminum foil..lol

I have used those coals before. When I first started smoking hookah they were the only one I used. They are pretty average in my book. I consider the Japanese coals the best, and swear against any of the quick lighting ones.

when i use nats. I usually break'em into quarter sized pieces and place three on my foil. The smaller pieces, obviously wont burn as long as one large chunk but it makes for easier heat management, In my opinion. I used naturals almost exclusively until I discovered abu hitams(this will be the 3rd post in which I've plugged abu hitam so I'm gonna shut up now!)
