Default New Hookah

Alright soo
I got myself a new hookah yesterday and tried it for the first time today with some Al Fakher banana flavour. The smoke was nice, avtualy everything was nice exept for some strange dry earth taste. My bowl is a clay bowl and was thinking the taste might be coming from the bowl itself. also, my hose seems to have a real strange dusty taste inside it. I have washed it before using it...but the taste is still there
any help would be apreciated
thanks in advance

The hose taste will probably go away after another session or two. Its probably just from it being new. I'm not sure about the "dry earth taste"

well im no expert but the bowl looks like it didnt have enough glaze before it was fired in the kiln, that may be where the dry earth taste comes from, and as for the dusty taste try using a hookah filter tip

AF banana isnt that great of a flavor. If you can get your hands on something that might have some taste you should enjoy your sessions a little better. Useally that taste goes away within a few smokes.

that bowl is just fine, yeah there isnt glaze on the inside of it, but i dont think it would make a taste like that. No glaze can help heat production, i have one like that myself

be sure your hose is washable before rinsing it.Running water through a non-washable hose could effect the flavor. your bowl and hookah look fine.I love the vase!Maybe try another flavor and see if you have the same problem. good luck!

That hose is definitely not washable, washing it was a bit of a mistake. The dusty stuff is the inside disintegrating most likely, I have had it happen after water got into my hose.

The earthy taste could be from the non-glazed bowl, it needs to be smoked a lot so a burned tobacco crust can coat the bottom and the taste of the ceramic should go away.

I don't think the glaze would matter...
That is definitely not a washable hose either.
and use lemon juice/baking soda or beer to clean the stem.

If hoses are not washable, what makes them non washable?
is it some sort of material they are made with? or some sorth of chemical agent inside it?

some cheaper hoses have a cardboard type liner that obviously doesn't jive w/the water.

your bes bet is to invest in a "washable" hose. or use compressed air to clean your hose.
