That would be the most cost effective solution right there. If you are looking for portability and are feeling a bit saucy. You could go with a butane stove if you don't mind refilling it. Butane stoves work great too. I just have a single plugin burner like the one mentioned above.

Butane ones I have seen can run you anywhere from 14-29 bucks lol. As for the car plug in ones you would probably have to get an adapter. One that plugs in via cigarette lighter then it has a 2-3 three prong AC sockets you could plug into.

Don't get a butane man. Once you use an Electric one, you'll be pissed you bought it.
Butane stoves pretty much suck, and you have to refill them every 2-3 weeks.

yeah refilling the butane ones is a pain, the electric ones make the coals smell more from my experience but you can get a long cord and start it on a balcony.

Whoa Walgreens sells hot plates?!?

Looks like I'm gonna have to make a trip down at Walgreens and buy myself one tomorrow :P

I've been wanting to get one but never have since the only place I thought sold them was online (I couldn't find any places around my area that sold any). Heh that all changed. Thanks a bunch MNH!

Well, some of the stores do and others dont. I had to hit three different Walgreens to find one but they did have it. Not sure if it was a stock issue because the two that didn't just gave me a blank stare when I asked them about it.

A butane lighter works well enough for me.

I just let the coal cook for a bit on a microwave-safe plate (that way I don't get the taste of cooking coal and lighter fluid in my first few drags), blow on it for a while, then let the good times roll. =]

A butane torch would be great though... I should invest. =D
