Default Different Brands, Different Coals?!

Hey HP.
has anyone noticed that some brands of tobacco smoke better with different coals?
AF and Fantasia smoke better when I use naturals,
HH, HF, and fusion smoke better when I use QL's.
Is it just me?

It's been along time since I've used QL's, but every brand I smoke smokes well with natural finger coals.

Completely agree. If I use naturals on my HH/HF or Baja I tend to burn it. But the rest need the Exoticas or I just don't get the performance out of them.

I like me a good roll of quicklights. I don't see why people make them out to be so bad. I have had some good sessions with em. I was in a coal all time low for a while and I had a roll of 3 kings and they worked nicely in my time of need. My shish smokes fine no matter the coals. I will find a way to make it work

Eck I will only use QLs in case of emergencies, but most of the time, I'd rather not. IMO, They taste so nasty and chemical-like compared to naturals to a point it makes me stop smoking :X

You can use any coal, for any tobacco! It is all about the Heat Management! I switch it up, from Al Hambra to Exotica to Akhla to Japanese, just depends on my mood ... but no matter what coal I use I can still get consistent smoke depending on how I setup my bowl "Heat Management"

this is true, but i feel that some QLs and even some natural coals impart flavor onto the bowl that is noticeable and i dont like that =/

I have been using some of those Easy-Lite Chinese japanese knock-offs, and they work just great, a little weak though, but still work better then exoticas for me. I have used them on Zona, and on Sb Coconut, and Fumari and they seem to be just fine.

I've tried just about every natural coal I can get online bar the Roland finger coals and Coco Naras both of which I have coming and a few QL's and all the naturals so far beat them hands down both in taste and life. I've got high hopes for the Coco Naras after being dissapointed with exoticas.
