Default Marble Coals

Some of you were asking how to use marbles as hookah coals. Well it's pretty easy. The marbles that are used are the flat gem like marbles, the ones that are found in a craft store. Then the marble is placed on a stove until it is red hot. Then set it on your bowl, with foil.

How long do they stay hot for? I'd imagine they'd cool too quickly to compare to coals.

There still really hot and that was four hours ago. No they don't explode because they are solid, I mean they didn't explode on us.

Thats pretty interesting, i guess you would have to make sure theyre 100% marble and not those glass ones. This might even work if you heat a rock.

As long as moisture does not hit them they should not crack. Hasn't anyone put marbles in flames then into cold water just to see them crackle? Did it many times when I was a kid and they just simply crackle. Never had one literally explode.

That is a pretty cool idea, but I'd visually inspect them before heating them up. If there are any air bubbles in the glass i would imagine the heat would cause them to break or shatter.

If you have a friend who is a Magic the Gathering goober you could snag his marbles. They use them to keep track of points. LOL

i dont know what type of thoes marbles you use but i tryed it with some blue ones my wife had tonight and i was luckey to get 15 min out of three of them so i tried to heat them with a oxy acc torch and got them to the point they were soft and was able to hold them within 25 min and i set them on a board so there were not disipating heat like aluminum would and so either you have magic marbles or im using the wrong ones or doing something wrong also thoes arnt marble at all they are pyradex based glass and they will not explode unless there is a air bubble in the glass. My mom blows glass thats the only reason i actually know this.
