Default Glycerin For Shisha?

Could anyone tell me what type (brand if possible) and where to get Glycerin to make my own shisha with. I'm looking for an actual store to buy it from, not online. Thanks

Look for any glycerin in the food section of stores. Only use vegetable glycerin. If it isn't in the food section or states that it is vegetable based, then avoid it.

Thanks, I guess I'll just go out and check some grocery stores today.

Pharmacy glycerin is medical, based more on alcohol than anything. This is not suggested since this can cause reactions with the shisha and ruin the taste.

I go to a baker's supply shop and get food-grade glycerin for mixing in cake frosting.

I have tried many different grades over the years and I've found that this stuff is the absolute best for using in tobacco. It's very forgiving, takes a lot to alter the flavor of your tobacco, and it doesn't tend to lend a soapy mouthfeel like some of the pharmaceutical-type stuff will.

I got mine at walmart actually. Even in the large area I live in it was surprisingly difficult to find, just make sure it has "USP" written somewhere on it. That indicates that it's food grade, which is safe to ingest.

They are not all created equal though. Just because it's usp or food-grade doesn't mean it will be any good for moassel.

USP just means it fits into a purity standard for consumption. I've had several batches of tobacco ruined because of sub-par glycerin. It can be USP and still cover your moassel with a nasty aftertaste or soapy mouthfeel.

Wilton's is the best I've found.

This could be true. The bottle I picked up seemed to work well though, so I have no complaints.

You might find it at Walmart or CVS. Problem is Glycerin is also used to make Meth. Yes the drug.....So it is very difficult to find in stores. Buy it online it is easier. Here is where www.vegetableglycerin.com. Same day shipping I think, but I would call them to confirm this. They are located in Ohio --ish area...

I use wiltons glycerin, and have had no problems. That's what I suggest you get. I found it in the baking section in a nearby craft store.
