Default Boiling Bowls?

So today.. after smoking for a bit I decided to inspect some of the bowl's I had.

They didn't look too pretty with the black inner ring of death as I like to call it from bowls and bowls of shisha being burned through it.

I tried scraping it off with a knife to no avail, as well as the lemon/baking soda mix some have described here.

I was wondering if boiling a clay egyptian bowl and medium phunnel bowl would be bad news bear?

I mean, i'm not sure at what temperature clay breaks at, but I know they fire it in kilns at thousands of degree's. Opinions?

Crap, I don't have any steel wool at home. Maybe I will have to buy some.

I boil my bowls about once year. But I am doing super good on heat management now that I rarely get a ring that i can't get, by cleaning the bowl with a scrub brush in the sink after the session.

I need to get some steel wool. In theory it would work pretty well. I have a MYA deep bowl and it is unglazed on the inside. I tried to get the burnt juices outta there with a knife and I couldn't. I am going to pick up those nifty cheap 2 packs of metal wool from wally-world and see if I can get rid of that ugly stuff.
