Default Coconara or Exoticas?

I know this has been a thread already from juno and raid3n and countless others but i thought it'd be fun to bring it back with a poll. I've been seriously debating though but I think i'm starting to lean towards the exoticas.

Factor in the bang for you buck, longetivity, smell, taste, and anything else that would be important. have fun!

To tell you the honest truth, coconara's smell when lighting, they don't last as long as everyone says and they are more expensive. The only good thing is the coals stay "hotter" due to less ashing.

Exotica's are still the winner for me and my pocket book. Mine don't really smell when lighting, light quicker, last the same length of time, and cost less.

I have very reliable box of exotica's. Perfect heat, great length, all in all good. I've only tried coco's once, but overall I'm more satisfied with exotica's.

I've never tried coconaras because of how expensive they are. Why should I buy a full box of those when I could get almost 2 boxes of exoticas with that money?

Hehe exoticas ftw :P

Exoticas are better than Coco nara or any other coals I've used by far.

Yes I have tried both and my reasons for my choice are listed above. I just didn't want anyone to think i was making a blind statement.

I just don't think that 14.95 for 84 pieces of coconaras vs 8.49 for 100 pieces of exotica (if you did 1/4) or 75 pieces ( if you do 1/3) is worth it. That's a difference of "about" 6.50. I'm sorry the wow factor wasn't there for me to really spend that much cash on something that didn't really impress me or work as "awesome" as everyone said.

A box of exoticas will last me 37.5 bowls and coconaras will last me 28 bowls at the consumption rate of 2 1/3 coals per bowl of exotica and 3 coals per bowl per coconaras.

****prices were taken off of MNHOOKAH.COM as they were the first company that I could think of that carried both products!****

So far I have only tried the Exoticas as a natural coal and the coals out of the box I have do not seem to get hot enough. So the vote is still out for me as I try other coals.

Damn thanks for the good calculations! I know exoticas would deliver more bowls than the coconuts, but your calculations were hella accurate.

It just convinces me more to stick to exoticas

mmmm it's true about the carpet thing though, coconaras dont burn the carpet as much. but i dont burn my carpet all too often and i usually just stomp on the ash if it gets on my carpet. so i stick with exoticas again

Exoticas are not natural .. wanna find out how? light one up fully then put it out with water and tell me what you smell ... that smell does not come from natural coals

one day I will do a pic and video review of both. I'll keep everything the same and just change the coals. With cost aside, this will be a performance test. Factors will include lighting time on a coil stove, smoke thickness/heat at 15 min, 30 min, 45 min, and however long it will last. For now, my vote goes to coco nara for the following reasons. They never break while lighting/ashing(for me at least), they last an hour or more, they barely need to be ashed and no splintering from breaking apart(since they're pre shaped). I use 2 on a small phunnel and a standard egyptian bowl. Cost aside, these coals are excellent. With exotica having hit or miss batches, why take a chance when you can get a perfect product every single time?
