Default Autoseal help?

Hi, I currently own a "king of hookah" brand "miss nile" hookah. It is a three hose, with autoseal valves on all hoses. I wish to convert it to a two hose hookah with a purge valve, but am having some trouble. I plan to completely take out the ball bearing, but there seems to be a metal guard in place, and no where to unscrew it. Has anyone ever attempted to do this with a similar hookah or valve?... and how would i go about removing this metal guard that keeps the ball bearing in place?

Thanks

Why do you want to remove the bearing? Is it rusted? I have a 16" stargate with the auto-seal and the angle of the hose adapters is too low to allow the bearings to slide back in place so I took them out. On mine the hose adapters simply unscrew from the stem halfway through. Mine also has a screen in place to keep the bearings in place but since I removed the bearings anyway I simply cut the screen out to improve airflow. If there is no way to detach it you can use a dremel with a cutting type drill bit to remove the tabs holding the screens.

it sounds like its one of the hookahs that is made to not be taken apart. you would have to risk some surgery to do it. you dont really need to do anything but get out the one bearing to be able to purge.

you could just get a drill bit a little bit bigger than the bearing (have to be just big enough to let it pass though) and drill into the port so that the bearing will come out

wash and clean it out well so you dont have burs flying down the hose to your mouth

Hmm.. sucks it doesn't unscrew. I have a Syrian 3 hose chiller, and it had autoseals on all the ports as well. I rarely use all three hoses, so I removed all the bearings out of them, and put plugs in two of them. I got an extra hose port connectors, and drilled out the metal screen, and use that when I solo. This way I can convert back to all autosealed when necessary. Dunno what to say to you if the ports aren't unscrewable. If you drill it out, then anytime you would do multi-sessions, you'll have to close your hose up when someone else hits..

Thankfully you have a few commercial options to pug the ports you aren't using.

You could use these for solo sessions:

And these for group sessions if anyone doesn't feel like plugging the hose ends with their hands these are an option:

on second thought, instead of drilling get one of the tapered dremil grinding stones and grind it open until the BB comes out, a lot safer and cleaner
