Exclamation A clean hookah. Help!

Some people say use dish soap, others look strongly down upon it. Some people use rock salt, others say the rock salt doesn't dissolve.

I just want to know what cleans the hookah.

I didn't know you were suppose to clean it after each use and it is in desperate need of cleaning before I get my new shisha in on Thursday.

Will someone help me out and guide me through how to clean this thing without it ruining the next smoke?

Also note I don't have the money to be buying cleaning solutions, so please give me some at home concoctions that work for you well.

Thanks!

Here is what I do:

Wash the base with dish soap and hot water (using brushes). Rinse thoroughly. Add mix of hot water, lemon juice, and baking soda. Let sit. Rinse, rinse, rinse. Same thing for stem.

If your hose is washable, swill a shot or two of vodka through the hose. Follow with hot water, baking soda, and lemon mix. Rinse thoroughly.

The point of rock salt is that it doesn't dissolve, it gets off those nasty hard water stains inside your base! It's abrasive.

Baking soda and lemon juice are the best, both are natural and contain no alcohol, and both deodorize.
