Default having problems with tangiers

ok so i picked up watermelon tangiers..and i opened the bag and spread it evenly on a sheet of tinfoil about the size of 15''x15''..had it sitting out for 2 days..then yesterday i scooped it up and now have it in a zip lock bag that im mixing and stirring every few hours..but i still dont seem to have it ready..i read that some people usually get it ready within a day..not sure if its where i live? im located in illinois..am i supposed to get a really strong watermelon smell..or just hints to let me know its ready?

if it smells like soy sauce, bbq, or burnt, it needs more time, if not try it and see how it smokes.

if you keep having issues with it give eric a call, his number is on the package and he is very very helpful

i wouldnt keep it in a zip lock, tangiers should be kept in a low wide ziplock container.

and it depends how it smells whether or not you should keep it closed or open. if it doesnt smell like bbq/soy sauce/smoke try it and see if it is good, if so keep it closed, if it doesnt smell right and/or smokes bad air it out more, some times acclimating is harder than it should be, and some times you over acclimate by accident and it is hard to recover if not impossible after that
